I am a graduate of Purdue University (2009) where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing, with an unauthorized minor in Heavy Metal Drumming.
During college—while working as a third-shift janitor in the bowels of the university’s liberal arts building—I formed the fantasy metal band Lorenguard, which would be the foundation for both my first novel and my lifelong love for fantasy and storytelling.
After finishing college, I began writing professionally as a freelancer for Fantasy Flight Games. It was a dream gig—working on one of my all-time favorite fantasy game settings, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. This soon led to me accepting a full-time copywriting job in the Fantasy Flight Games marketing department. Not long after, I would move to the R&D department to begin my game design career, working on games such as Descent, X-Wing Miniatures Game, Mansions of Madness, and Gears of War.
While at Fantasy Flight Games, I continued playing drums for my band Lorenguard, occasionally touring and promoting my first novel, Eve of Corruption.
Between 2012 and 2019, I worked as a proposal writer for Carlson Wagonlit Travel, BCD Travel, and Appirio, gaining a wealth of corporate technical writing experience to compliment my creative vision. However, with an increasing freelance workload, I decided to return to board games full-time in 2019 with my twin brother and co-designer, Adam. Together we have created over a dozen core game systems which continue to be supported by over sixty related products and expansions.
Currently, I’m a proposal manager by day and a hobby novelist by night.
